Apse Mosaic, Empress Theodora and Attendents

This is apse mosaic, Empress Theodora and Attendants, located in San Vitala. The mosaic was constructed about 550 A.D. in Revenna, Italy. Because of the time period, and the amount of golden tiles, it is classified as being Byzantine. The folds on the robe of Theodora are more three dimensional than her attendants. This is to emphasizes the most important part of the mosaic.
